Thanks for joining the TPC Fall 2025 Hackathon. We are holding the meeting in the University of Illinois Discovery Partners Institute at 200 S. Wacker in Chicago. You’ll enter on the northeast corner of the building (at the intersection of Adams and South Wacker. The building faces the Chicago river to the west and the iconic Willis Tower to the East. It is about a 35-minute walk from the Wrigley Building (just west of the Gleacher Center where the DOE/MEXT meeting takes place). If the weather is nice, this is a beautiful walk and I recommend you descend the stairs at Michigan Avenue to use the river walk, ascending again at Lake Street (the end of the walk) where you can continue south on South Wacker.
We are doing all breaks and lunches on-your-own and recommend forming groups of 6-8 and using a gather-scatter approach to avoid 40 or 50 people lined up in front of one barista. There are many coffee shops and quick lunch places with a 5 minute walk. For your convenience we have selected a half dozen coffee shops and a handful of quick and decent food lunch places on this map: Nearby COFFEE and FOOD guide. These are numbered in order of distance, from just across the street to a 5-minute walk. There are also tips on things happening in Chicago Thursday evening.
The coffee and food guide also includes dinner suggestions (a very small subset of the many excellent options, chosen for convenience walking from the neighborhood where the DOE/MEXT meeting is being held (and thus assumed to be near your hotel!)
